How to Manage Voicemail Settings
The Voicemail Settings screen allows you to turn on/off voicemail functionality and listen/change the outgoing messages that callers hear. There are two outgoing messages; Contacts and Strangers.
- Turn ON / OFF Voicemail (default is ON)
- Listen to existing outgoing message
- Reset outgoing message to Default
- Record a new outgoing message
When Voicemail is ON:
- Calls from Strangers will immediately transfer to teleCalm system voicemail where they will hear the outgoing Stranger voicemail message.
- Calls from Contacts will ring to the loved one’s phone. If there is no answer after 7-8 rings, or if the phone is unreachable, the call will be transferred to teleCalm system voicemail where they will hear the outgoing Contact voicemail message.
If the caller leaves a message, it will be available for the caregiver to review by tapping the voicemail icon on the Dashboard screen (upper right corner).
Recording a New Outgoing Message
Initially, there is a default outgoing message for both Contacts and Strangers. You can customize each of these messages to be more personal.
Use the Start Recording and Stop Recording to record your new outgoing message.
Play: Listen to the newly recorded message.
Save: Save the newly recorded message.
Troubleshooting
If the Stop Recording button doesn’t work properly, check that the app permissions are set correctly under the smartphone’s application settings.
For iPhone:
Open the iPhone’s Settings app and search for the teleCalm Caregiver app (titled “teleCalm”), then check that the Microphone is turned ON.
For Android:
Open the smartphone’s Settings app, select Apps*, then search for the teleCalm Caregiver app (titled “teleCalm”). Select Permissions, then check that both Microphone and Storage are allowed.
* Menu structure may vary by Android OS version.
If that doesn’t work on Android, you might try clearing the app’s storage and cache.
